Diaz Foods made a donation of snacks and other goods to Grady Hospital on what some are calling the most real week for our nation in decades. Grady hospital is one of the largest hospitals in the country, serving uninsured and low income patients you could imagine that during this pandemic they need our support and resources more then ever before.

Diaz Foods, a mid-size foodservice business in Atlanta, GA believes that it is their moral and ethical obligation as a food industry participant to continue to feed our first responders especially when they are on the front lines exposing themselves to a still very new virus. Putting they’re own safety on the line to make sure someone will be there should any of us need critical medical attention. It has been estimated that around 80% of the population will be infected with COVID19 and around 20% of those with the virus will need to be hospitalized which is the reason our nation is preparing nervously. We might not have enough ventilators, beds or personnel to accommodate the amount of virus in our hospitals in just 1 wave but across the nation we have seen confident medical staff ready for the very human reality that it’s a time for humanity and teamwork.

Diaz Foods understands the stakes and they have been in full-on overdrive mode for weeks. It’s special to see small and medium companies accepting the task and doing their part to help our country and first responders during a season of uncertainty we never thought we would see. Diaz Foods is a melting pot of ethnicities and religious beliefs but at the core of every member of the Diaz family they are dedicated to rolling their sleeves up tight and helping to keep this structural pillar strong and thriving to make sure that we don’t fall and our communities don’t run out of the supplies they need to eat and be well to combat a virus that is lethal to a weakening immune system.
